With only 169 bottles, this highly limited release brings together two of Spinnaker's finest single casks from Barbados and Guyana's Port Mourant still, aged 12 years, and bottled at Royal Navy Strength.
The result is a decadent, luxurious, rum with notes of dark fruits, spice, and caramel, and natural companion to a great cigar.
About Spinnaker
I'm an Austin native who's spent years going deep on beverages, from roasting coffee, brewing beer, mixing cocktails, and eventually distilling my own spirits. I fell in love with bourbon, scotch, agave spirits, you name it! But rum felt shallow, or at least like a mystery to me that I hadn't solved yet.
When I finally decided to dig in and give rum a chance, I was truly blown away! I discovered rum to be the most complex and diverse spirits in the world. The history of rum is so fascinating, filled with rebellion, resilience, and rediscovery and once you start going down the rabbit hole of what actual rum can be, it's hard to stop. It felt like I was uncovering a treasure hidden in plain sight.
The problem was easily finding the good rum. Most of what's on current shelves is bland "silver" rum, vague "gold" rum, or overly sweet spiced rum, all with labels full of pirates, palm trees, or other tropical cliches, and lacking any real information. Great bottles were out there, but they were buried, often dusty, or in outdated packaging that you'd walk right past unless you already knew what you were looking for. Rum is so underrated and under branded here in the U.S.
That really got my gears turning and was a big motivation for starting Spinnaker Rum, a brand with simple promises of great-tasting, transparent, authentic, additive-free rum. Whether I'm hunting down single casks from the world's best distilleries, sourcing bold and interesting blends, or distilling my own, I'm bringing you the best rum I can find by any means necessary.
